Dear Berkeley Academy Students, Parents and Staff:
This is an email reminding you about ASB Middle and High School Elections tomorrow. In the spirit of democratic exercise, we have a wonderful event tomorrow hosted by one of our seniors Daniela Lopez Solis – the president and founder of a student club Berkeley Academy Students for Civic Engagement (BASCE).
She will be moderating a panel of four high-profile Costa Rican presidential candidates at 10:30am – 11:30am at the Comunidad Cristiana auditorium. This event is closed to High School students but open to the public via Facebook Live. We will activate the live link at approximately 10:25am. We wish Daniela all the best in coordinating her event. The event information is attached to this email.
Additionally, MS/HS elections will take place tomorrow in the Berkeley Academy auditorium on the Main Campus. Elections will be conducted electronically via Google Survey. The voting booths will be set up on Berkeley Academy laptops, supervised by Berkeley Academy staff.
Students have two choices for the 2021-22 academic year: PRESTIGE or LEGION. LEGION, headed by Jeremy Sutton, created a wonderful website for you to learn more about their political party: www.legionberkeley.com
PRESTIGE, headed by Natalia Rojas, has made various and excellent presentations during the past week.
We wish both parties the best of luck! Winners will be announced tomorrow, after voting booths close at 1:30pm.
Tomorrow is a wonderful demonstration of democracy at Berkeley Academy.
